3.3 WooCommerce Anti-Fraud
Quickly detect fraudulent transactions on your WooCommerce store
It’s unfortunate that fraudulent transactions make up a large portion of the e-commerce industry, but it’s true. When a fraudulent transaction occurs on your online store, it’s important to act quickly to (a) ensure that your customers aren’t affected and (b) reduce your hassle as a store owner.
WooCommerce Anti-Fraud is designed to help you spot fraudulent transactions and catch them when they happen – scanning and providing a score for every transaction completed through your online store, based on a set of advanced scoring rules.
This WooCommerce plugin is ideal for store owners.
Automatically block or suspend fraudulent orders.
Easily view the risks and warnings associated with each order.
Receive notifications when fraudulent or unsafe orders are placed.
Easily filter out illegal orders and reduce store management time.
Integrate MaxMind’s minFraud® service into their online store.
Check the “risk” of each order.
WooCommerce Anti-Fraud automatically assigns a score of 100 to each order. This is known as the risk score. The higher the number, the more likely the order is to be fraudulent. By checking the risk score, you can quickly assess the potential risk level of a transaction and take action accordingly. Risk score and recommendations for an order via the WooCommerce admin.

Underneath the risk score, users can view the warnings associated with the order. The recommendations provided relate to the rules in place (e.g. if the customer’s IP address doesn’t match the billing country). The higher this number is, the greater the potential for potential fraud of the order.
Automatic cancellation or suspension of suspicious orders
If a potentially fraudulent transaction is detected, WooCommerce Anti-Fraud can be configured to perform one or more of the following automated actions.
Cancel the order
Notify the administrator via email without changing the order status.
In the plugin’s settings, you can change when these actions are triggered based on their risk score. For example, you may only want to automatically cancel an order if their risk score is above 90.
WooCommerce Anti-Fraud offers automated actions.
The WooCommerce anti-fraud system works out of the box – no additional rules to configure. We’ve defined a set of default rules that the system will use to score each transaction. These pre-configured rules will work for most online stores. However, these rules can be customized through plugin settings to increase or decrease the importance of specific factors.
Customizing the Importance of Each Risk Factor
Our anti-fraud plugin allows you to assign a “risk weight” to each risk factor. This means you can determine the importance of each risk. The higher the risk weight for each category, the higher the risk score will be when the risk is detected.
